How Does Time Fly ?- 1/19/08

When we’re children time is like the tiny hatchling looking over the edge of the nest wondering “ WOW, how the hell did this happen ????” So filled with trepidation that it can barely feel its face when that high pressured wind hits its face than think it is one day going to be flying away from this haven/prison in the sky. Its happy with its daily feedings from the Momma Bird and idles its time as it grows everyday unaware of the change it is causing in the world. Thats time for us all when we’re small. Well, thats what it is for me and how I wish it was and is for everyone. A time when the only concerns you had was going to the bathroom, getting to stay up late for all the cool shows, getting up early enough for weekend cartoons, getting to watch TV after your homework, and a whole assortment of other now seemingly pointless concerns that meant the whole world to the younger you ( and the younger me as well.). Sadly, the 80s baby might be the last generation of really innocent kids. Not that innocence lasts forever and you can tell by now since the last of the 80s babies are almost all in their twenties and showing that our innocence has been long gone and sold for much more devious delights. Yet, now it seems like kids from the 90s and 2000s aren’t even getting the chance to be kids themselves. Its like that once innocent hatchling that couldn’t even look up at the sky without almost wetting its tailfeathers is jumping out the shell ready to pull corkscrews and glide in the air. They’re ready to go out and get their own food. Such self reliance is not a crime but people I think lose the idea of caring about others if they have never had an example of it in their own lives in which they were personally affected by it. Nowadays kids are seeing the world has a dog eat dog place from like 5. That is f*ckin crazy. I’m guessing the longest part of your life is when you’re a kid cause you don’t realize how short it can be for everyone. Once the knowledge of how things you thought last forever, like family, love, friends, and whole other aspects of life can really be so short you complain about how fast time flies but really don’t mind since its hopefully leading to a happier ending than the one you had before. So, piss straight and fly right, I’ll see you on the Up-High.
