First, RIP Benazir Bhutto. A woman who was willing to go back to her home in a time of crisis and paid the ultimate price for it. It seems nowadays, that the world in a whole is running out of real heroes. Or maybe we have decided that inspiring such things is not what is best for the world at large. I think a lot of people want to be heroic but its hard to find a cause better than ourselves it seems most days. Now, I can’t say I’m immune to this contagious idea of not only American society but a seemingly international one. Still, when I complain about why does this happen here or complain about the situation of life in NY or a plethora of other things, I leave it at just the talk and never decide to take the walk to find out what is really going on. I strongly believe that one person can’t change the world, but only in affecting others with the idea that a good cause can be fulfilled by their own awareness that changes have to be made can something viable actually happen for any of us. The notion that people who are really involved spend day and night on any single cause or the real world changers but thats not always the case I think. People choosing to not buy petroleum gas and deciding to go to alternative fuels on a nationwide basis could cause all those Washington bigwigs all it takes is uniting on making something happen. Actually, it takes a bit more too but if we consider back in the day a neighborhood would stand together as a real community that would help one another through good and bad times, then worrying about only yourself was not your only concern. We lose out on so much because we can barely see past the problems in front of our own noses and once we do get a chance, its scary to know that the world has gotten so worse.
